Cherryl Moote
One day, five basic book forms and a case to hold them. Really! This class is for you if you have always wanted to try your hand at making books but didn’t know how to get started. You will learn all about basic tools, basic skills, materials and more. We will cover the five basic book forms that are the foundation for all further bookmaking. All the paper will be precut and ready to assemble so the whole day can be devoted to creating a finished set of miniature books and a simple case to hold them all. Lots of ideas will be given for ways to use these books in your own artistic work and in the classes you teach.

Supply list for this class will be sent to class students.

Copic Markers for Tanglers
$185 includes over $50 in materials and luncheon

Katie Butler
Do you want to know what Copic markers are? How they are used? What supplies you need? Why they’re so popular? Are you ready to easily add vibrant color to your Zentangle tiles? Maybe you just want a chance to try them before you buy them. If you answered yes to any of these, this workshop is perfect for you. Copic markers and Zentangle Art are natural companions. During this six hour workshop, you will learn and practice everything you need to know to master Copic markers and push your tangles to the next level.

Katie is an Advanced Certified Copic Marker Instructor who has been using and teaching classes on Copic markers for almost 10 years. In this class she will begin with the basic marker principles and then direct you through the best and most popular techniques.

Each student will receive a set of Katie’s favorite grey Copic markers, perfect for shading regular Zentangle tiles. You will be surprised at how this set provides a smooth easy application for gradual shading or high contrast. In addition to the marker set, students will also receive a detailed information packet and project guide so everything you learn can easily be referenced once you return home.

After mastering the basics, Katie will guide students into a new colorful world of Zentangle Art. We will continue the journey by combining the art forms to create a set of four tiles, each inspired by a different element. Katie will teach you several new patterns and provide detailed step-out sheets for dozens of ideas to include on your Wind, Earth, Fire and Water pieces. Students will be able to use multiple Copic color combinations and leave with a unique and radiant piece of art.
