On Thursday and Friday we have two exciting optional classes which you can register for. If you choose not to register for an extra class you can join others in the Open Studio classroom - where spontaneous sharing, tangling and open mic are likely to occur!

Focus on Opus

Lesley will guide you to tangle in a rich, multi-layered way on an Opus Tile.  She will share ideas, techniques, and attitudes for tangling large-scale – avoiding the problems than can easily occur of creating something that is either over-simplified and very light, or over-complex and confusing.   Lesley is the CZT from the UK who sent photos of her Opus tile, tangled on the back, to Rick and Maria – who then wrote a blog post.  This sparked some international conversation, as Lesley seems to have tapped into the fears which many people feel when faced with the beautiful, large, Opus tiles!  Lesley continues to tangle on Opus tiles  using mainly official tangles …. but she uses them in new ways that she never did in her previous four years of tangling.  The joys, creative freedom and learning that have arisen from tangling on a larger scale have come as a complete surprise to her!  

All you need for this workshop is an open-mind and some favourite tangles which you enjoy tangling already – maybe a band, a grid, a few organic/plant-like tangles and maybe an infill.  You will learn how to put them together in new and inspiring ways, which could change how you approach all your tangling. Bring your basic Zentangle supplies. Fee includes supplies & Opus Tile.
